I’m probably best known for my efforts as a podcaster. I began podcasting in 2012 when my friend asked me if I had ever considered it. I bought a $10 stick mic, downloaded the only person to person recorder I could find, and the rest is history. I’ve produced podcasts about suicide prevention, veterans issues, comedy, sports, and more.
Borne the Battle
Shortly after getting to VA, I was asked to launch its first official podcast. Borne the Battle is the only podcast I have launched that has lived past my involvement. The program provided a lot of opportunities for collaboration in the veteran space and connecting with individuals whose military experience was less known, like Mike Krzyzewski, Duke basketball coach.
1, 2, Many: Veteran Suicide
The podcast I am most proud of is 1, 2, Many: Veteran Suicide. It launched in 2014 and spoke to veterans and their families about the complex issue of veteran suicide.
Fuel for Warriors
In 2015 and 2016, I hosted a podcast called Fuel for Warriors. I spoke to veterans, athletes, and others who identified with the term “warrior.” One of my favorite interviews from that series is with WNBA champion and basketball legend, Sue Bird.
